North Riverside, IL -- The North Riverside Recreation Community Theater (NRRCT) concludes its 13th season with the new, revised production of You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown with book, music and lyrics by Clark Gesner and revised book and new songs by Andrew Lippa.

“We all grew up reading the comic strip,” says Dona Mullen, director and veteran Chicago actor, “and is there any one of us that can’t identify with Charlie Brown on some level?  The play itself is a time proven classic, and don’t even get me started on the songs.  I’ve been in the play twice, I’m now directing it, and I STILL get goose bumps every time I hear ‘Happiness’!”

You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown is a fast paced musical comedy appropriate for all ages.  The play features six characters who bring the Charles Schulz Peanuts comic strip to life through a series of vignettes and songs, including  “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," "Suppertime" and "Happiness”.  The play premiered in New York in 1967 and has since become one of the world's most popular musicals, spawning 13 national and 15 international companies and a Hallmark Hall of Fame television production. The new revised version first appeared on Broadway in 1999 and received four Tony Awards® nominations, including one for Best Revival of a Musical.

You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown opens on Friday, October 3rd and continues through Sunday, October 12th at the North Riverside Village Commons located at 2401 S. Des Plaines Avenue, North Riverside, Illinois.   Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm. Ticket prices are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students with ID, and $6 for children under 12.  For tickets, call Terri at 708-447-1297.
